I’m like someone’s favorite pen

I am given all of the attention

Until I run out of ink

Then a new pen comes into the picture

and it’s like I am invisible now

This new pen is better than me in so many ways

It has more tricks than I ever did

it even has a clicker at the top

I just had a cap

This new pen is erasable

I wasn’t

Make a mistake with me and you can’t go back

But this new pen is forgiving

it’s got all the things anyone could ever want

out of a pen

But

I’m not talking about pens.
