Hiding behind a cracked mask,

We are growing tired.

And pretending to be different

is getting old.

Why can’t we be ourselves?

Instead we have to hide

And create this alter ego.

Every morning we wake up and put on a mask,

And sometimes at night

we forget to take it off.

When will the mask become a part of me?

And when

Will I finally lose myself?
